    How many times does Carlos Lopez need to be stabbed before he learns to walk away?

    Man stabbed twice in NM, month apart

    CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) — Clovis police say a man who was stabbed on the Fourth of July has been stabbed again, and they believe it stems from the same conflict.

    Police Chief Steve Sanders says 26-year-old Carlos Lopez was in stable condition at Plains Regional Medical Center in the eastern New Mexico community.

    Sanders says a person has been taken into custody. Police did not release a name.

    Lopez was stabbed July 4 during a fight at a park.

    But police say he was uncooperative with the investigation and no arrests were made.

    Sanders says Lopez and the suspect from the previous fight encountered each other at Saturday at the Clovis Walmart.

    He says they exchanged words, a fight broke out and Lopez was stabbed.
