CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Belle man was caught masturbating with a mannequin in a public park in Malden, deputies say.
A resident in the Malden area spotted Eddie M. Campbell, 61, of Witcher Creek Road just after noon Sunday in the Booker T. Washington Memorial Park on Malden Drive performing lewd acts and called for help.
Kanawha Sheriff's Deputy B.S. Middleton went to the park and saw what appeared to be two people, one sitting on the other's lap, on a bench at the park, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court. The deputy parked in a nearby lot and walked over to the park.
There, Campbell was sitting shirtless on the bench with his pants down around his ankles and a mannequin with no arms on top of him, according to the complaint. The deputy said Campbell was touching himself with his right hand and moving the mannequin with his left hand.
Middleton wrote in the complaint that Campbell pushed the mannequin away and pulled his pants up when he identified himself. The deputy noted in the complaint that Campbell was in a public park in a residential neighborhood close to a church.
Campbell was arrested and charged with indecent exposure. He is being held at South Central Regional Jail on $2,500 cash-only bond.
