Pole Dancing Classes Break Old Workout Routine

Some may think pole dancing is something that only goes on in a Gentleman's club...but new class in Grand Junction is changing all that.

Above the Pretty Things shop in downtown Grand Junction is a room with five poles.

That's where students of all ages are learning the tricks of the trade...or, just the moves.

Store owner Sooner McKay-Halverson says the class is all about fitness and fun.

Women (and some men) of all ages are now taking up the exercise classes as a way to break out of the usual gym routines.

Students describe the classes as fun and liberating.

I think it's the part that says 'students of all ages' that gets me. I have this mental picture of a room full of saggy grandmas...and grandpas!
