GASTONIA - Gastonia Police charged a 25-year-old man with felony child abuse after they say he threw a 10-month-old baby against a wall, according to arrest warrants.
Police say Dustin Scott Waddell of the 800 block of Radio Street struck the baby in the face and threw the baby against a wall, which led to the baby suffering a fractured skull and bruising, according to arrest warrants.
Waddell was the mother's boyfriend and was baby-sitting the infant at the time of the incident, according to warrants.
The child was listed in good condition Friday at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
The incident occurred on April 25 and Waddell was arrested Wednesday.
Agents with the State Bureau of Investigation assisted in the case, according to court documents.
Police charged Waddell with felony child abuse-resulting in serious injury and assault on a child under 12, according to arrest warrants.
Waddell remains in Gaston County Jail on $500,000 bond.
