    WHY IS HIS SHOE STILL ON? HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN ON???

    One night when i was a medical student doing my surgery rotation in the ER, a guy kinda like that was brought in. Homeless guy who fell asleep with his leg resting against one of those burning barrels, and the burns became a maggot nest. i have blocked out the appearance of the actual wounds, as i am unable to remain sane if i picture them, but i do remember some of the larvae charging around the facility. the nurses tried to corral them in the trauma room by piling Betadine-soaked paper towels in the threshold of the room. then i dissociated.
