Police: Drunken Driver Crashes Ice Cream Truck

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --

A Louisville man is facing DUI charges after police said he was involved in a hit-and-run crash while driving an ice cream truck.

According to arrest records, the crash happened around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 2900 block of 7th Street Road.

Police said Tommy J. Shannon fled the scene and ran to his parents' house. An ice cream company employee told police that Shannon was the driver and where to find him.

According to arrest records, when police found Shannon, he smelled strongly of alcohol and was slurring his words.

Police said Shannon told them he hadn't had anything to drink, but blew a .134 on the Breathalyzer.

Police said that during a field sobriety test, Shannon stopped after a three-count and said, "Lock me up."
