$90K Worth Of Jewelry Stolen From Vehicle Parked At Burger King

SLINGER, Wis. -- Someone stole $90,000 worth of jewelry from a vehicle parked at a Burger King in Slinger on Sunday night.

Police said they were flagged down at 8:40 p.m. by a man in the parking lot of the Burger King located at 940 E. Commerce Boulevard for a theft complaint.

Officers were told that someone in a light metallic blue Chrysler Town and Country minivan had entered a secured cargo van in the parking lot by smashing the driver's side window.

Witnesses told police they saw a man smash the window with his elbow and remove a large duffle bag with the jewelry inside from the front seat of the vehicle.

Witnesses told police the minivan had out of state plates and took off eastbound on State Highway 60.

The owner of the jewels said about $90,000 worth of gold rings, bracelets, gems and precious stones were taken. They were stamped with the intials "FDK." The victim had been selling the jewelry at the Cedarburg Strawberry Festival.

My aunt was married to a goldsmith/jeweler. Sometimes when my aunt traveled she'd sell jewelry too, but that shit was always in a locked briefcase of some kind that displayed the pieces. weird they had 90k of jewels in a bag.

90k in jewels and they stop at Burger King to eat? I call BS. How the hell did the people in the out of state mini-van know there was something valuable enough in the bag to take it? I mean come on, you think of duffel bag and you think of clothes,or worse, dirty GYM CLOTHES, why would you bust open someone's window to get a bag of what could possibly be clothes? Wonder if he told police it was a bushy haired dude and a chick in a floppy hat that took the bag? Just seems fishy as all get out to me.

ADDED: Why the hell wouldn't you bring a bag with all those jewels inside with you or go through the damn drive through? Would you leave that much in CASH sitting in the car?
