$90K Worth Of Jewelry Stolen From Vehicle Parked At Burger King
SLINGER, Wis. -- Someone stole $90,000 worth of jewelry from a vehicle parked at a Burger King in Slinger on Sunday night.
Police said they were flagged down at 8:40 p.m. by a man in the parking lot of the Burger King located at 940 E. Commerce Boulevard for a theft complaint.
Officers were told that someone in a light metallic blue Chrysler Town and Country minivan had entered a secured cargo van in the parking lot by smashing the driver's side window.
Witnesses told police they saw a man smash the window with his elbow and remove a large duffle bag with the jewelry inside from the front seat of the vehicle.
Witnesses told police the minivan had out of state plates and took off eastbound on State Highway 60.
The owner of the jewels said about $90,000 worth of gold rings, bracelets, gems and precious stones were taken. They were stamped with the intials "FDK." The victim had been selling the jewelry at the Cedarburg Strawberry Festival.
