WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A West Terre Haute man is behind bars for allegedly trying to kill his friend with a flashlight.
Allen Dove is facing an attempted murder charge for allegedly attacking his friend, Michael Brewer while he was asleep at his home.
It happened early Friday morning at Brewer's house on South 4th Street in West Terre Haute.

Dove confessed to police he attacked Brewer with an industrial flashlight, brutally beating him in the head.
Dove also allegedly hit his wife, Lenora Dove, who was inside the home at the time.
"Some type of love triangle deal and the husband came home to what he suspected to be his wife with another man and in his words, 'lost it,'" West Terre Police Chief Mark Arnold said.
Brewer is currently in critical condition in Indianapolis.
Police said he has skull fractures and bleeding on his brain.
Allen Dove is facing charges of attempted murder, domestic battery and residential entry.
