    Police: L.I. Bus Driver Tried To Rape Passenger
    A bus driver on Long Island was charged with trying to rape a passenger.

    New York State police said 43-year-old Richard Downes attacked the woman in Riverside Saturday afternoon.

    Police said Downes stopped the bus and tried to talk to the victim, who was his only passenger, and pulled her to the back of the bus where he tried to rape her.
