Death & A Funeral, Tirell Reed Charged In Slayings At Post-Funeral Gathering

An 18-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that left two men killed and a third wounded at a post-funeral gathering two weeks ago in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said this morning.

Tirell Reed, of the 7400 block of South May Street, was charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.

Police have said the three shooting victims were attending a funeral for an elderly person on June 9 when quarreling broke out among the mourners.

The dead men were identified as William Huntley, in his 20s, and Frenchie Ford, 25.

Police said Reed (right) and the three victims were gang-affiliated, but the person for whom the funeral was held was not. Police could not say what the argument was about, or if it was related to any kind of gang activity.
