    James Brooks shot a woman with her infant in her arms



    NORFOLK, Va (WAVY.com) -- Investigators in Norfolk are looking for a suspect in a late-night shooting in which a woman was killed while holding her 2 week-old infant child. They said he's 25-year-old James Brooks, and he should be considered armed and dangerous.

    The department issued a news release with details about the incident and suspect:


    Norfolk Investigators have identified a suspect wanted in connection with the murder which occurred on May 1, in the 8600 blk of Glen Myrtle Ave, at approximately 11:14PM. He is listed as James R. Brooks, B/M 25 yrs old, DOB- 2/9/83, of the 8600 blk of Glen Myrtle.

    The victim has been identified as his girlfriend Monica Zollicoffer, B/F 21, who was shot during an argument while she was holding their 2 week old infant child. The infant was not injured in this incident. Ms. Zollicofer was pronounced at the scene by Paramedics at 11:32PM

    Anyone knowing of Mr. James Brooks whereabouts are asked to call the Norfolk Police at 441-5610 or the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888- LOCK U UP.

    NORFOLK
    A man wanted in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend - killed as she held their 2-week-old daughter - was found dead in the surf off Willoughby on Monday.
    A passerby spotted the body of James R. Brooks, 25, of the 8600 block of Glen Myrtle Ave., in the vicinity of 5th View Street and West Ocean View Avenue around 9:45 a.m., police said.
    The cause of his death is not yet known. His body has been turned over to the medical examiner's office.

    At least the asshole is dead, but that leaves that little baby an orphan. *sigh* Maybe the baby will have a good life, I pray it will. It will need counseling though.
