According to the affidavit, Det. Jarrett Wilde of the Wichita Falls Police Department contacted Guthrie about a case Wilde had been investigating in which a victim had disclosed details of Williams.
The victim’s mother was allegedly working in cooperation with Child Protective Services in Wichita Falls, but then left a relative’s home in the middle of the nightMonday.
Wilde was concerned that she had returned to Marlow, with her two daughters, to be with Williams, even though, according to the affidavit, the woman had said she was going to live with her grandfather in New Mexico.
Wilde contacted the Stephens County Department of Human Services and the children were taken into protective custody.
On Friday, the children’s mother and Williams approached Guthrie, in the courthouse, according to the affidavit.
They asked Guthrie if he remembered them and he said yes.
“At that time, Mr. Williams looked at your affiant and stated,
‘I know you’re coming after me but I just want to turn myself in! I am guilty and want to confess,” the affidavit read.
At that time, Guthrie escorted Williams to his office and read the Miranda Warning.

Burns issued this statement: “These types of child molesters are heartless people who prey on innocent kids. I wish the death penalty was an option but it is not a legal sentence for this crime. We will be recommending the harshest penalty allowed which is a life sentence.”
