Three Jefferson County bail bondsmen accused of torturing bail jumper
ST. LOUIS (KSDK) -- Three bail bondsmen from Jefferson County are accused of torturing a man in ways that sound like something out of a mob movie.
According to court documents, Sean Baker, Shawn Boyer and Kevin Ritrovato picked up the victim on a probation violation at a house on 9th Street in St. Louis June 5. The house belonged to a friend of the victim, and he told authorities that when the bail bondsmen arrived he went willingly.
The victim said that after he got into the car with the three men, the drove around trying to pick up other bail jumpers before returning to Jefferson County. The victim said that the men informed him he would be tortured before one of them smacked him in the face with a half-full water bottle.
Documents say the men took him to an office building and walked with him inside. The victim said one of the men told him to drop his pants and bend over a desk so they could have sexual intercourse. The other two allegedly made jokes while the victim begged for mercy.
The victim told authorities that Sean Baker then sprayed mace on a cloth and then wiped the cloth on the victim's face and genitals twice. The victim said that Baker went to a bathroom and returned with what he said was a warm washcloth so the victim could clean himself off. It was a trick, and the cloth just made the pain worse.
The victim said the men then took him from the building and placed him in the vehicle. They turned the heat on high, which made the victim's recently-maced face and genitals burn even more.
The victim said that the men took him on two other bond runs before taking him to jail...
Ritrovato, Shawn Boyer and Sean Baker all face felony and misdemeanor charges in connection to the alleged assault.
Ritrovato and Boyer were released on $5,000 bond and Baker being released on a $7,500 bond.
