Rudolph Valentino Smith Makes Namesake Turn Over in Grave

GA - Thursday, Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Rudolph Valentino Smith, 42, and charged him with aggravated assault, aggravated sodomy, kidnapping, and rape, among others. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon around 2:30.

Smith was working as a cleaning service employee at a house when he went to a nearby home and asked to use a phone. That’s when the victim, who was babysitting a child there, was beaten and sexually assaulted. The child, who ran to another room as the attack was underway, was unharmed.

After the attack, Smith demanded that the victim drive him home. When he let her go upstairs to retrieve her car keys, she locked herself and the child in a bedroom and called 911. At that point Smith stole a handgun from the home and fled on foot.

According to investigators, Smith has been arrested and jailed at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex on 15 separate occasions. Past felony charges include aggravated assault, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, armed robbery, and voluntary manslaughter.
