Ronald Jensen proposes and he wasn't taking no for an answer.

A Goodyear man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly hitting his girlfriend in the face when she turned down his marriage proposal.

Ronald Jensen, 67, was charged with aggravated assault for beating Linda Hunt, 59, at his home near Indian School Road and Estrella Parkway, according to Goodyear police.

The two had lived at the home, but had recently broken up.

Hunt went to the home at about 4:45 p.m. to collect some of her belongings and Jensen proposed marriage to her as she went into the house from the garage.

When she refused, Jensen hit Hunt in the face, fracturing her eye socket and nose.

Hunt is recovering at a local hospital, according to Goodyear police.

Officers had been called to the home at least twice before, including late March for a family fight, according to a report.

Jensen is out on bail.
