http://www.tbnweekly.com/pubs/pinell...310_par-05.txtA Pinellas Park woman allegedly claimed that her dog ordered her to steal from a store.
Worst, Rebecca Simmons, 18, told police that she had a magic wand that could make everyone disappear.
Simmons was charged with retail theft and resisting arrest without violence. She was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on May 25 and released on her own recognizance.
Officer Scott Martin said the suspect was at the Walmart Super Store, 8001 U.S. 19, shortly after midnight and was seen by security personnel placing cosmetics and clothing valued at $159.06 into her handbag.
Police said Simmons resisted arrest. In the security office she refused to give her name, threatened officers and then allegedly confessed that her black dog ordered her to steal from Walmart. Further, she said, the dog threatened that it would shoot her if she did not comply with his demands.
Police said the suspect told them if she had her magic wand she could make everyone disappear so she wouldn’t have to go to jail.
