A traffic stop on Sierra Highway turned into an arrest on drug and mail theft-related charges, an official at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station said Tuesday.
Sharon Mozo, 29, of North Hollywood, was arrested Monday morning after deputies pulled her over during a routine traffic stop near Sierra Highway and Dolan Way.
When her car was searched, deputies reportedly found several tools and drugs, including: a manufactured United States Postal Service mailbox key and locking mechanism; burglary and pry tools; methamphetamine; drug paraphernalia and dozens of pieces of mail.
According to deputies, the pieces of mail were believed to be stolen from residents in the North Hollywood area. None of the mail items were addressed to locations in the Santa Clarita Valley. Mozo was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and theft of mail.
In addition to felony charges, Mozo also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of narcotic paraphernalia, possession of a United States Postal lock and possession of burglary tools.
She is being held in lieu of $32,000 bail, and is set to appear in court this morning.
