A Columbia woman is accused of
trying to run her boyfriend over twice in one day with her 1997 Ford Contour.
Elizabeth D. Moffett, 35, tried to run over her boyfriend, Franklin Johnson, at about 2 p.m. Sunday on Jefferson Street, said Jeff Westbrook, assistant public information officer for the Columbia Police Department.
Moffett missed Johnson, instead hitting a tree and another vehicle at 1001 Jefferson St., Westbrook said. Johnson told police Moffett tried to hit him with the car earlier in the day as well. He said Moffett aimed her vehicle at him and sped up, Westbrook said.
Officers found Moffett's vehicle on Sexton Road following the incident.
Officers then got a call about a woman in the area wearing only a T-shirt and underwear. Moffett was belligerent and aggressive toward officers, Westbrook said.
After being arrested,
Moffett called Johnson from the police station and threatened to cut his penis off and stab him, Westbrook said.
