According to investigators, Scott Christopher Hahn of Charlotte was at the Holiday House hotel back on the evening of May 14 when several other guests saw him pushing a blanket around on a luggage cart.
When one guest asked him what was in the blanket, Hahn replied that it was "garbage," according to the arrest report.
Another guest got suspicious and tipped off a security guard, who called 911 after seeing feet sticking out of the blanket. Those feet belonged to Hahn's wife, police say.

Hahn allegedly smothered Kane in room 211 at the Holiday House then wrapped her body in a blanket, bound it with a gray cable and moved it to the parking lot on a luggage cart.
Several witnesses saw Hahn moving the blanket. Hahn told one witness he was moving garbage from his room and another that Kane was sick and he was trying to get her to the hospital, according to the report.
