ST. PETERSBURG — [...]
The infant was hospitalized with serious injuries but is now in stable condition, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. Adam Cullison, of 2621 40th Ave. N in St. Petersburg, is being held at the Pinellas County Jail.
At about 7:30 a.m., the baby started crying. Cullison tried giving a bottle of formula, but the baby kept crying.
Cullison threw the full bottle at the baby's head, causing bruising under the child's skull, detectives said.
The baby kept crying, so Cullison hurled the child to the couch, detectives said.
On Friday, the mother took the baby to a local hospital with a high fever. St. Petersburg police officers were called because the fever and injuries appeared to stem from physical abuse. The Sheriff's Office took over the investigation when officers learned the alleged abuse happened outside of the police department's jurisdiction.
