A 25-year-old Havelock, N.B., man is facing a manslaughter charge in the death of his 23-month-old daughter, who died after ingesting methadone in January.
Anthony Linfield was charged with manslaughter, criminal negligence causing death and failing to provide the necessities of life on May 18, the RCMP said in a statement.
Paramedics and the Caledonia RCMP were called to a home in Havelock on Jan. 8, after Dakota Linfield ingested methadone.
The girl is believed to have drunk the methadone within the previous 24 hours, RCMP said.
The toddler was taken to Moncton Hospital and then airlifted to the IWK Health Centre in Halifax where she died on Jan. 13
