KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) - A Polson man is in custody on an attempted murder charge, after authorities say he attacked a Lakeside man with an ax.
Flathead County authorities say 34-year-old Jesse Sheridan attacked 40-year-old Marvin Saloway (sal'-oh-way) at about 4 a.m. Sunday.
Authorities say Sheridan walked into Saloway's home and hit Saloway with the back of an ax while Saloway was sleeping. Saloway's girlfriend was also there but wasn't injured.
Authorities say Sheridan hit Saloway a few times in the face, chest and legs, and bit off 1 of his fingers. Hospital officials say Saloway was treated and released, but may still lose his left eye.
Authorities say Sheridan attacked Saloway because Saloway is dating his ex-girlfriend.
