Disturbing Details Released in Child Sex Assault Case
A registered sex offender in Colorado Springs is behind bars, accused of another crime. Police say the man sexually assaulted a 12 year-old boy and they think there may be more victims out there.
28-year-old Joseph Scott Gould was arrested following a four month long investigation.
Obtained court papers which reveal some disturbing details about what happened and why police are still concerned that more victims could be out there.
According to court documents Gould is a registered sex offender who was convicted of sodomy in Nebraska in 2005.
According to an arrest affidavit a 12-year-old boy told police that Gould sexually assaulted him at a home on North Carefree Circle in Colorado Springs.
The boy says he had gone to the home to play card games and video games with Gould who he referred to as his friend Joe.
The boy told police Joe told him to go into the bedroom and then handed him pornographic magazines, that's when Joe allegedly sexually assaulted him. The boy says he pretended to cry out in hopes that Joe would stop.
He went home and told his mother what had happened and told her that he was feeling suicidal because of the incident. His mother called police. Detectives starting investigating and it wasn't until May 4th that they were able to make an arrest.
During an interview with police Gould admitted to the assault and denied using any force or threats. He told police it was a one time incident and believed it was both their faults.
