KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- An Orlando woman disembarking a cruise ship with her 9-month-old son was mistakenly arrested on a warrant for prostitution and drug possession.
Paola Londono, 32, stepped off a cruise ship in Fort Lauderdale following a week-long vacation in the Caribbean. Holding her son in her arms, Londono passed through U.S. Customs, unaware she was about to be arrested and jailed for a crime she did not commit.
In March, Kissimmee police arrested another woman named Paola Londono, 26, on charges of prostitution and drug possession. When she failed to appear in court, a judge issued a warrant for her arrest.
Somehow, the cruise ship passenger's birth date was mistakenly printed on the suspected prostitute's arrest warrant.
Mistaken Identity
When Broward County authorities confronted the cruise ship passenger, they had no choice but to arrest her because her name and birth date appeared on the arrest warrant, according to a Broward County Sheriff's Department spokewoman.
Londono immediately alerted jail officials to the mistake, said her attorney Jose Baez.
Typically, questions about an inmate's identity are verified using fingerprints.
However, due to the holiday weekend, Baez said he had trouble finding someone in Osceola County who could send the suspected prostitute's fingerprints to the Broward County Jail.
"It's extremely disappointing that in this day and age, this kind of issue can't be resolved in a matter of seconds," said Baez.
An Osceola County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said fingerprint records are kept by the jail. A jail spokesman could not be reached for comment.
On Monday night, Baez and a fellow attorney convinced Orange-Osceola Circuit Court Judge Jose Rodriguez to issue a court order demanding Londono be released on her own recognizance.
At about 10:30 p.m., Londono was set free from the Broward County Jail and tearfully reunited with her husband and son.
Londono will soon be required to appear in an Osceola County courtroom to verify her identity, said Baez.

My comment; These "commenters" obviously do not follow the Caylee Anthony case.
Only thing I can think of this woman may have been smarter than we think. Anything Jose touches would be blown into the media. If she was and it seems she is totally innocent it would make front page news as it did in the local media markets and also give her a suit (I hope she picks another attorney for that) (hint Mark Nejame) But to clear her name quickly and get vast media attention Jose would have been a bumbling pick as a channel to the media!

Casey Anthony's defense team has added another member according to paperwork filed Wednesday with the Orange County Courthouse.
Ocala attorney Dorothy Clay Sims specializes in cross-examining medical experts.
"I've given over 200 lectures across the United States and the world on medical-legal topics," Clay says in a video posted on her website.
Clay is the author of a book called Exposing The Deceptive Defense Doctor, but in this case she will be working for Casey Anthony's defense.
She's been brought on for the "limited purpose of cross-examining experts," according to court paperwork.
That defense table is a revolving door. She'll be long gone before the trial starts.

Dubbed Baby Crystal, the infant’s body was found in a garbage bag along the side of Will Road north of Yale Bridge Road in Rockton Township in December of 2004.
Stockton pleaded not guilty a year ago to 10 counts of first-degree homicide.
She remains at the Winnebago County Jail and is next due in court on Sept. 15.
Bruscato had no other comments regarding the case, but Winnebago County Sheriff Dick Meyers said the investigation continues.
The father of Baby Crystal was identified last year, and in February police also identified another man as the father of one of the two fully-developed infant girls — determined not to be twins — found in the trunk of Stockton’s impounded vehicle in August of 2009. The vehicle was impounded in South Beloit when Stockton was pulled over for a traffic violation.
The third father has not yet been identified.
“We’re seeking anyone who had an intimate relationship no matter how short in nature,” Meyers said. “We know the third baby doesn’t have the same father, so we are definitely looking for a third person.”
Meyers said the father may have nothing to do with the death, but he wants to identify him in order to put together a timeline.
No charges have been filed against Stockton in the case of the infants found in the trunk.
He said the father of the second infant found in the trunk likely was in a relationship with Stockton anywhere from December 2004 to mid-2009.
Winnebago County Coroner Sue Fiduccia would not comment on the status of the forensic investigation on the skeletal remains of the infants found in the trunk because she said she is awaiting information from the state’s attorney’s office.
As for now, Fiduccia said the infants have not yet been buried.
Tests done on Baby Crystal’s body determined she was born alive and died from exposure. Baby Crystal also tested positive for hepatitis B and cocaine was detected in the baby’s body.
She is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Winnebago.
Stockton is also the mother of a boy who is around 10 years old whose father police have concluded is not that of Baby Crystal nor the other two infants.

Who is Casey Anthony’s new attorney? WESH-Ch. 2 supplied more answers tonight.
Anchor Martha Sugalski described attorney Dorothy Clay Sims of Ocala as “the formidable new asset on Casey Anthony’s legal dream team.”
What do you make of that interpretation? Overstatement?
WESH’s tireless Bob Kealing explained that Sims “travels the country advising plaintiffs’ lawyers on how to expose quack medical experts” and that she has a reputation for aggressive questioning. Sims visited Anthony in jail six weeks ago but it isn’t clear when the attorney will first appear as co-counsel, Kealing added.
Orlando defense attorney Richard Hornbsy, who provides legal analysis for WESH, theorized that Sims could help in a defense effort to save Anthony’s life. Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee. Hornsby sees Sims as “definitely an asset” and says her participation suggests the defense is putting the state on notice that the prosecution’s experts better be more than hired guns.

Sims More For Penalty Phase Than Trial (Casey Anthony Case)
Are they telling us they think Casey will be found guilty? I do not understand why they are concentrating on the penalty phase right now. Shouldn't they put their efforts into the trial at this point?
They are so concerned with the penalty phase.... that shows me and it should show you that they really think (know) that the jury is going to come in with a guilty verdict. The only thing they could do is try to mitigate damages.....
BUT... if that were the case than why the whole show. It's for the media exposure. It's for their personal claim to infamy by the lawyers. Even in a slow economy 150 an hour is more than Jose might make as a drunk driving lawyer. He would never have the infamy and recognition. I'm sure that is why the lady wrongly arrested from cruise ship picked him because she knew national media would have picked it up. Heck I might have called him and then directed him what to do because he's so incapable on his own. Then I'd dump his ass but the public embarassment of being on the media and being the wrong person is a lawsuit too. But sure would not proceed with the BIAS law firm... (no misspelling!) (ha)
BUT... back to the topic!!!! I would think I would make a plea for my client's life and try to cop to accidental death or even murder 1 but get the death penalty off the table.. but it's not about Casey... it's certainly not about Caylee... it's all about the parties involved in this from the Anthony's and the lawyers to the money mongerers who made/make money off dead children for a small example, Kid Finders (the Milsteads) William Murtaugh, and many others.
This whole case reeks..... I don't think anyone is innocent of anything except Caylee and her only sin was being alive.

In this Angel, I thoroughly and ABSOLUTELY, agree with you, this trial ain't about nuttin' but fame and fortune for the defense lawyers and the experts they hire. This particular trial is all about getting the national and worldwide exposure they all want, not just Jose Bonehead, in this instance. There is no way somebody like you or me could get the lawyers that have jumped on (in some cases, jumped off) this bandwagon to represent us for such a really simple open and shut case of anything. They're in it so that some dummy like me in Thomaston, GA knows their name, no other reason, getting justice for Caylee never, ever entered the equation.
And really, Casey is secondary, too.
