VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - A 4-year-old child sent to the hospital after a drunk driving crash.
Now, the driver is behind bars and it's not the first time.
Officials said Michael R. Burns, 49, had a blood alcohol level of .16 while he was driving his girlfriend's 4-year-old daughter around in Vigo County Sunday night.
That's when Burns drove into a tractor that was heading North on Rosedale Road.
The 4-year-old girl wasn't buckled in at the time.
She was taken to the hospital, with only bruising on her face.

"To have a child in the vehicle while you're under the influence is unfathomable," Sheriff Marvel said. "I can't understand why anyone would do that, there are people who do it and obviously this man is going to have to pay the price."
Sheriff Marvel said Burns was also driving with his headlights off at the time, however the tractor did have its flashers on.
Officials said this isn't Burns' first time in trouble with the law.
He was released in 2005 after serving a prison sentence for child molestation.
Officials said since then he's also had two other drinking and driving offenses.
Making this third offense a felony charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
