County Attorney Kasey Wadding says the body of Marie Lisa Peak was disinterred Friday and sent to the State Medical Examiner's office in Ankeny for re-examination.

Peak was 20 years old when her body was discovered in Bremer County just north of Waverly in September 1976. An autopsy indicated Peak was the victim of a sexual assault and died of a broken neck.

It seems the case has stalled, but I hope that is only apparent, and even if it is actual, hopefully the bastard who killed her has not had a restful moment since her rest was disturbed.....
