Junette Page Jobin, 58, of New Westminster faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of Patricia Rose Pelletier.
Pelletier was found dead in her home in the 3200-block East 51st Avenue in south Vancouver after concerned family members phoned 911 on April 19.
"The cause of death was not readily apparent, but the investigation confirmed it was a homicide," said Vancouver police spokesman Const. Lindsey Houghton at a press conference Saturday.
He said Pelletier is the widow of former Vancouver police Const. Kenneth Pelletier.
