A brief introduction

Hi everyone. I recently found this site while looking for updates on the Dominick Calhoun story. I really liked what the commentors had to say, and I am a nut for crime stories, so I thought I would register.

I am a stay at home wife and mother. My son is almost two years old, and my husband works in Law enforcment. We also have two cats and a Rottie.

We live in the cult capital of America (Branch Dividians, Homestead Heritage, and Baylor University), Waco TX. We are working on moving to a different town, because Waco is not a very fun place to live. I help with a support group that helps families navigate the Child Protective Services system. We help educate them about all the jargon they hear, what the different levels are, ect. After a year doing that, we are also taking the first steps to become foster parents, because there is a lack of people in our area willing to do it, and we feel like we have a lot to give a child.

I enjoy reading, playing with my family, watching rediculous reality dating shows, Being snarky on the internet, cooking, dancing around the house to cheesy 80's music, volenteering with our civic theatre, and volenteering at the animal shelters in the area. I also am a movie junkie. If you don't detect the theme, I spend a lot of time at home. I was much cooler before I decided to procreate.

I hope the appeases the welcome thread police. If not, let me know what you would like to know, and I will do what I can to fix it. And I guess I will see

you in the forums.

Huzzah! You said "a brief introduction," and I thought I was going to have to pull out the taser and handcuffs after reading 2 empty sentences. But this is a freakin' AWESOME intro.

Plus, I know Waco (some). I visit my dad and grandma every year in Marlin. When I can't take it anymore, I head to Waco and hit a used bookstore there.

Would that be Goldens bookstore on Franklin, or Brazos books by Don's Humidor? We love these two, but they are the only ones I know of. We are planning on moving to West, because it is a very friendly town. Or that is what I tell the husband. It is really that I want to be able to buy warm fruit kolaches every morning if I want...

That would be Brazos Books, next to Schmalts Sandwiches and Don's. You should try Goldens. I love it because it is so chock full and disoraganized. It is like an episode of horders, but fun!

For me, the issue is of being able to find it and then get back out of town without getting lost. If I'm gone too long, my dad and grandma start freaking out.

LMAO. I wasn't cool 'til I had my kids. I didn't have to grow mine though. I just take in everyone elses.

See, my name make me think of Luche Libres, for some reason. I am all about the mexican wrestling. But there is a funny story about it.
And I would like to add the disclaimer that I am not originally from this town. I moved here when I married the Hubs (put it off as long as I could), and He moved here for work. We are not home grown residents of crazy town.
