Sonia Hayman Beat Up Her Daughter Then Pulls Out Knife

RICHMOND, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Cache County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a mother who beat her daughter and tried to break into a room with a knife.
According to Cache County Sheriff's Office Lt. Chad Jensen, deputies responded to a call of domestic violence at 9:00 p.m. Monday night.
According to Jensen, the incident began with a an argument between 36-year-old Sonia Hayman and her husband, Terrance.
The argument escalated, and according to Jensen, Sonia struck and kicked her 17-year-old daughter as she tried to call 911. Jensen said the daughter retreated with an 11-year-old sibling and Terrance to a bedroom where they tried to lock the door.
Jensen said Sonia then tried to break through using a knife, which she used to stab at the door several times, eventually penetrating it, as Terrance held it shut while calling 911 with a cell phone.
Sonia Hayman was booked into the Cache County Jail on 3 counts of aggravated assault, 2 counts of child abuse, 1 count of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, assault, and damage/interruption of a 911 call.

My best friend's dad used to be a mean alcoholic, he's dead now, and one day he shot at her with a bb gun. She tells me she had to jump out of her bedroom window to get away.

The incident reportedly started as a verbal argument between Sonia and Terrance Hayman. Sonia’s two children, ages 17 and 11, were also home. Terrance left the residence, as did the children a short time later, to allow Sonia time to calm down.
The report states when Terrance and the children went back to the residence, another argument ensued and Sonia allegedly threatened to kill them. She’s also reported to have struck the 17-year old daughter in the face, knocking her down and then kicked her. The press release states Sonia went to the kitchen for a knife and Terrance and the kids went into a bedroom and held the door shut. The report states Sonia stabbed the door more than 10 times, several times penetrating all the way through the door. Terrance was able to call 911 on a cell phone.
Sonia was taken into custody and booked into jail on several aggravated assault and domestic violence child abuse charges, among many others.
Terrance Hayman was also booked into jail on a domestic violence warrant out of Roy City. The children are in the care of DCFS.
