6th-Grade Boy Accused Of Sexual Harassment In School

CARDINGTON, Ohio- a 6th grade boy is accused of sexual harassment. A mother of one of the girls claims the boy put his hands up little girls skirts and grabbed her daughter's boob at a football game. Another parent claimed the boy stated that he knew where her daughter and her friend lived and he will rape them. They are talking about transferring him to a school that helps students with behavior problems and he is known as a problem child.
I've was groped in school and hell I remember being in a shed and me and a neighbor touched each others' thingys. Is this just a curious boy or something more? Are we as a society becoming too conservative with our children? I don't know. I saw things when I was a very young girl (Saw my 1st Playgirl at 9 and saw Type O Negative's Peter Steele's 10 inch cock) and I'm well adjusted. Children also exaggerate. I'm not saying these parents and girls are lying, but... What do you think? Just harmless or is this boy a sexual predator in the making? Thoughts?

It is really hard to tell. Some parents go into OMG spasms at the most typical-but-innocent things. In reading the article, it looks like the boy is a bit of an overall problem but not a pervert (yet). Early intervention would probably help him. There is nothing you can do about overreactive parents.

As a former curious boy, I have to say this is something more. I will admit to having had more than my share of 'experimentation' encounters with boys and girls by that age, and there's no doubt I was interested.

That said, the comment that he was going to rape them is a different situation. He's taken it beyond curiosity about other people's bodies in relation to his own, and even beyond consensual exploration with those individuals.

Also, no one can tell me that a sixth-grader does not know better. They are old enough to know what rape is, and that it is wrong. This kid easily could be a danger if he's not addressed soon.

Absolutely. In fact, once upon a time I posted a piece about how experimentation is a totally natural part of pre-pubescent living that was actually better tolerated a few generations ago than it is today. Because we (as a society) pair shame and disgust up with natural tendencies to explore, fucked up things happen. Kids get aggressive or deceitful about it, leading to more problems than would have cropped up had you simply instructed the child to do such things in private. "Not in public" rather than "not at all" is definitely the tact to take with such issues.

Now, is this one of those? I don't know. If he's being forceful about it and threatening to rape people, that's not normal. Normal is you and a playmate negotiate certain levels of access. It shouldn't be blatantly non-consensual.

I agree that society has become too conservative, at least the society of the United States (can't claim knowledge of the rest of the world), regarding sexuality and its development.

But, also agreeing with Athena, if this is becoming a situation where he's threatening to force what he wants on unwilling participants, it needs to be dealt with. It's not about acceptance of your child's sexual exploration at that point.

I remember being in the 3rd grade, and this boy named Greg showed me his meal worm. I thought it was gross, and moved on. No scars to speak of today due to the "viewing". But this kid is talking rape....that makes me shiver

    Agree agree agree.

    Couple of things
“This young boy was running around the football game and started putting his hands up the little girls’ skirts and grabbed my daughter’s [breast],“ Bland said.
When I played 'doctor' as a kid it was done in a private location. We knew if we were caught there would be hell to pay. Running around and doing it blatantly like that is...strange, to say the least.

The superintendent said the district must give the student due process.
Too bad they won't give the girls tasers.

Um, have they thought about looking into his home environment?
Not to get into a big nature vs nurture discussion, but I don't think it would be a waste of their time to do so. I see where the school is saying they are talking about relocating him to a different school, but they are obviously in CYA mode, so I'm skeptical. Especially since it deflects from the involvement (if any) of his parents in that discussion.
