Small Autistic boy disappears in southern Carroll County *deceased*

OSAGE, Ark. -- The National Guard has joined other emergency responders and volunteers in the search for a missing toddler in Carroll County. The Emergency Management Office says the 3-and-a-half-year-old boy wandered away from his home near Osage on Monday afternoon.

The search is centered at a command post near the intersection of Arkansas 412 at County Road 924. The boy's family lives about a mile north of that intersection. Man of the searchers are working out of Osage Baptist Church, across Arkansas 103 from Osage Clayworks in the historic Stamps General Store building.

His parents say the boy was wearing blue overalls and a white shirt with orange sleeves. He has autism and is afraid of loud noises and crowds. He's 3 feet tall, slender, with brown eyes and brown hair in a buzz cut.

UPDATE: Carroll County, Arkansas Autistic Boy Missing
About 500 people in Arkansas are searching a 640 acre area for a 3 1/2 year-old-boy who went missing.

The toddler is about 3 feet tall. He has a buzz cut, brown hair and eyes and he was wearing overalls and a white shirt.

The Carroll County, Arkansas Sheriff's Department tells KSPR the family does not want to release the boy's name or a photo.

The Department of Emergency Management is turning away volunteers to assist in the search and says it will ask for people to help out when they're needed.

The DEM says the search is still a rescue mission, not a recovery effort, meaning crews still believe the boy is alive.

Aiden Bell, 3 years old

The body of 3-year-old Aiden Bell was found on the side of a creek bed.

The little boy had been missing since Monday afternoon.

Aiden disappeard from his grandparents' home in Osage, Ark.

Hundreds of volunteers had been searching for the boy. His body was found early Tuesday afternoon along the Osage Creek. Investigators are not sure what caused the boy's death, but they believe he tried to cross the creek and possibly drowned.

The creek did it. They are assuming that he wandered off and fell in the creek. From articles back when they found him, so unless they come up with more info, it's probably a safe assumption.

Grudek says foul play is not suspected — but the boy's body will be sent to the state medical examiner's office in Little Rock for an autopsy.

I have no words to express my deep sorrow for this family. Parent's naturally feel they are to protect their babies at ALL costs, and many of us would lay down our lives for our children. But when you have a disabled child, that innate feeling of wanting to protect your disabled child is so enhanced. With an outcome like this, a person could definitely live the rest of their life will horrible guilt on their shoulder and pain in their heart. I don't think anyone really gets over losing a child, one just learns to live with the pain. But add on feeling like you didn't do enough. That you could have done more....

I just feel terrible for his parents and grandparents.

He was a beautiful child. May he rest in peace and his family have the support they are going to need to get through this. A terrible terrible tragedy. God bless them.
