Another unknown child

The Boston Police Department reports a good Samaritan called them this afternoon to report a young girl gave her an even younger girl, about 2, who'd been wandering around Olney Street.

The Officers canvassed the area knocking on doors from Puritan Ave, to Geneva Ave. to Olney Street without any success in finding a parent/guardian for the child. The child was transported to the hospital for an evaluation but a parent/guardian has yet to be located.-11 detectives at (617) 343-4330 or 911

A witness told police that she was standing on the sidewalk in front of the 72 Olney St when she was approached by a young girl who handed her the 2-year old victim.

According to the witness, the young girl who turned over custody of the child told her that she found the child walking on Puritan Avenue towards the park.

The young girl who found the toddler left the scene before police arrived and could not be located.

The guardians of the found child were just found after they called 911 to report her missing. The parents were reunited with the child and the Department of Children and Families will resume the investigation.

According to this article, the police were called shortly before 5:00 and the parents called 911 just before 10:00.
