Katrina Dumas Is Missing; Toddler Son Found Tied Up in Woods

MS - Relatives of Katrina Dumas, 27, called police Wednesday to report that she and her 3-year-old son Fred were missing. Fred was found last night in a wooded area near a church; he had marks from being tied up and numerous insect bites.

On Wednesday, Katrina's parents were notified by a granddaughter that she had not picked Fred up from school at the scheduled time. Later that day, relatives saw Katrina's car being driven by someone else.

Police have found the vehicle abandoned and discovered what appeared to be blood and possible hair in the trunk.

Police are questioning a "person of interest."

Hello? What is wrong here? If daycare reported she didn't pick Fred up at school, what did they do with the child? How did he go from school custody to tied up in the woods, when it was clear the mother was MIA?

CLARKSDALE, MS - Police in Clarksdale, MS have charged a man with child abuse after his son was found lying face down and tied up in a wooded area behind a church.

The 3 year-old boy, Fred Dumas, was found Friday morning, April 25 in Sherard, Mississippi - about 10 miles outside of Clarksdale. He and his mother, 27 year-old Katrina Dumas, had been missing since Wednesday. Investigators told Eyewitness News Everywhere that Katrina's car had been located and there may have been blood stains in the trunk of the car.

Police are still searching for Katrina Dumas. Her son was taken to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center in Memphis to be treated for what appeared to be a snake bite, plus other minor injuries. At this time, officials say he is doing well.

Fred Leonard, Jr., Katrina's ex-boyfriend and Fred's father, was taken into police custody initially as a person of interest.

thanks for adding the photo Jerri - it horrifies me the adult half brother found his toddler half brother that way in the woods hog tied. She was on an errand selling lunches to raise money for their church her father is the pastor of. This Fred Leonard guy is whacko and will never be released from prison, I just hope he doesn't hurt anyone inside. There should be a time and place where they can change their mind and execute these inmates.
