GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A 15-year-old boy told investigators he had been handcuffed to a bannister for hours at a time, whipped with a belt and denied food, drink and bathroom breaks, Mesa County sheriff's deputies said.
Investigators said the 5-foot-3 boy weighed 95 pounds and "appeared very thin and pale" when authorities removed him from the home.

His father, 40-year-old John Wilson, and stepmother, 35-year-old Kristie Liane Moore were arrested Thursday on suspicion of child abuse. It was not known whether they had attorneys.

A 16-year-old girl who also lived in the home told investigators she saw the boy handcuffed to the bannister for 12 hours a day for months on end, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. She said she was instructed to stay with the handcuffed boy and not release him while the adults went shopping.

The affidavit said that on one occasion the boy was kicked in the groin as punishment.

The girl is not related to the boy but was in the care of Wilson and Moore, authorities said. She has also been removed from the home.

The affidavit said other family members were aware of the handcuffing and tried reporting it to the Department of Human Services when Wilson and Moore lived in the Denver area, but the family moved frequently and nothing was ever done.

According to the affidavit, the boy told investigators he was punished for not doing his chores well enough "and was in trouble for so many things, it appeared to just blend together."

Yeah who knew eh? Handcuff him to the stairs, starve him, kick him in the groin and don't let him go to the bathroom, oohhh and whip him while he is handcuffed. Thats how you raise a teenage boy!

I sure would like to do the same thing to them.

Yeah, but if you have two or three kids, and handcuff them together in a chain formation, they can clean a larger area while still being handcuffed to a stationary object. I like to make mine lick the floors clean, and scrub the walls. Did I mention I have the cleanest stairwell and hallway in town?

Handcuff these two (edit: parents) to a moving freight train - on the outside of the train, with their feet on the ground. :666:

Boy, I thought I was rough on my teens. I made them come downstairs to watch TV with the family and removed the locking door knobs off their bedrooms because they would go upstairs and spend all their time in their bedrooms with the doors locked. One day I knocked once on my son's door and walked in. I quickly put the locking door knob back on his room and gave him condoms to use to cut down on the mess. :D

HAHAHAHAH I never enter until I hear "come in" from my sons rooms. There are just some things a mother doesn't need a visual for!

She said she saw abuse in the home over a year and a half ago by her son-in-law and called Child Protective Services immediately....The woman...said turning in her own daughter was beyond painful but she says she had no choice. "There's a point when even if it's your child, you have to do what's right and you have to do what is just. I had to do what was right for the kids, they are the ones that are powerless, they are the ones that have no control."

The stepmother and father of the child were formally charged Thursday. Both parents are charged with two counts of misdemeanor child abuse, two counts of felony child abuse, sexual assault and false imprisonment.

14 year old boy in my house. Yeah he has that hobby too. In room, long showers, etc...
My 16 year old daughter not so much. I discovered the shower head at an early age, so I had my hobby too.
Back to these asshats. How could this go on for a year? Okay, they reported it and nothing was done? Time to report again, maybe call the police.

Why do people pick one person to repeatedly treat like shite?
Sometimes, they even adopt a kid and then just abuse that kid, that they did not have to take on in the first place. It is so horrible. I can't imagine the self esteem of a kid like this, makes me want to cry.:(

You know, we come down awfully hard on all the walking penises that kill their girlfriends kids or abuse them, etc. Some women are just as bad as the men are though. They make horrible step-mothers or whatever they want to call themselves. This bitch could have easily intervened.

I agree she could have intervened. Sadly for this kid his own father is a sick fuck too! What are the odds of him meeting a sick fuck like her to marry the second time around? Where is the boys mother? I hope she isn't sick too!

The sexual assault charge? That wouldn't be for a kick in the groin unless whomever was doing the kicking was getting sexual gratification from it. Seems more likely these sickos were were likely using the poor kid for sexual purposes too.

Yeah I know I wondered about that too. I asked hubby and he said a kick in the groin is just assault unless the kicker is doing it for sexual gratification. Nothing would surprise me anymore lol. I have seen a couple stories here at DD about guys that like to get kicked in the balls.

I am sure this poor child is not one of those but god only knows about the sick fuck that kicked him. Wonder if it was dad or step mommy.:(

i don't know, both my bratz are adopted & then there is my stalker & i abuse them all equally. i don't understand singling them out for specific meanness. i've read about people that will starve just one kid, i just don't fucking get it....

Bond slashed after guilty pleas in child abuse case

GRAND JUNCTION — A man who used handcuffs, beatings with a leather belt and starvation among other means of discipline for his children faces up to 16 years in prison.

John Wilson, 41, who handcuffed his teenage son to a home’s banister for entire days in a cycle of abuse that went on at least seven months ending in July 2006, pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to separate felony child abuse counts involving his son, now 15, and daughter, 16.

Under terms of the deal struck with prosecutors, Wilson could receive a combination of sentences adding up to 16 years in prison.

Wilson’s sentence will be left to the discretion of District Judge Richard Gurley on Aug. 29.

Over the objection of prosecutors and victims in the case, the judge on Tuesday also reduced Wilson’s bond from $200,000 to $50,000, following Wilson’s plea.

Ken Singer, Wilson’s attorney, argued his client had accepted responsibly for his actions “as quickly as possible.” Singer said Wilson also has a job waiting for him with Bresnan Communications.

Singer asked the judge for a massive bond reduction to $15,000.

Chief Deputy Attorney Tammy Eret lodged an impassioned objection — citing the aggravated nature of the case.

“This man altered these children’s lives forever,” the prosecutor said.

Eret said Wilson’s abused children — both of whom sat in on Tuesday’s hearing behind the prosecution’s table — also opposed a lower bond for their father.
Eret also pointed to Wilson’s guilty pleas.

“He’s lost his presumption of innocence,” she said.

Eret finally urged the judge to look at the issue through the children’s eyes, not legal ones.

“I don’t have that prerogative,” the judge replied.

Gurley noted the purpose of bond is to ensure a defendant’s return to court.

“You’re asking me to impose sentence this morning,” Gurley said.

The judge also noted the District Attorney’s Office dismissed Wilson’s most serious charge, a class-three felony alleging a pattern of abuse, as part of the plea agreement.

A no contact order remains in place for Wilson and his two abused children. Both were placed with relatives after July 2006 and both have been treated for post-traumatic stress disorder.

Kristie Moore, 34, along with Wilson told officers “they felt they had not done anything wrong” in using handcuffs to discipline their son, according to arrest warrants in the case.

Moore was the boy’s stepmother and Wilson is the boy’s biological father.

Moore’s scheduled to enter a plea in her case on July 29.

The children on Tuesday were escorted by Eret out a back door of Gurley’s courtroom, avoiding assembled television cameras on the fourth floor of the Mesa County Justice Center.
