Student disciplined for wearing "Axe" body spray.

Jimmy Carter Middle School student is in trouble for wearing Axe body spray.

According to the eighth-grade boy's accountability card, the teacher said it smelled weird.

"It says, 'weird Axe smell two days in a row,'" said Lorraine Parra, the mother of the child. "I thought this has to be some kind of joke."

Parra said she is disturbed that her child, who is an athlete at the school, was written up and that it will go on her son's record. She also said the situation was embarrassing to her son.

Albuquerque Public Schools officials said they would not comment on the incident because it is a disciplinary issue.

Is she sure she wants him to go to a college that would disqualify him for a write up due to Axe-abuse in 8th grade?

The teacher is nuts. So is mom.

Wearing Axe is an embarrassment in itself. Holy crap that shit announces itself blocks before the person wearing it gets in eye view and it has a half life similar to plutonium.

Smelled weird and he's an athlete? Was he maybe working out and tried to cover the smell without a shower?

Ugh, I wish they had rules when every single boy in my 8th grade homeroom discovered Drakkar.

I am surprised the teacher could even tell where it was coming from. Every time I have been around a group of teenage boys it smells like a freaking cologne factory exploded.

I have the same experience with heavyset old women and the theater, Pene. Seems they burned out their nostrils, but still don't believe their perfume is noticeable until they can smell it.

I bet about every middle school boy has had axe and over did it often.

I banned it from my house. The smell of boy is bad enough, axe and boy... double yuck.

I also thought he'd kill himself spraying it in the bathroom.

Axe is bad, Brute is worst, but the worst of the worst is pure, unadulterated, sweaty teenage boy. but still I wouldn't wanna be trapped in a car with any of them.

But really to write him up? At least he was trying to smell good. LOL

My husband wears axe and my 9yr old does but it is not overwhelming. Matter of fact the teacher suggested since he was starting to sweat it would be a good idea to put a little deodrant on and my son wants to wear axe so we spritz it lightly on him. Remember he is autistic and for some reason autistic kids tend to develop earlier as far as hormones. The problem is nobody takes the time to teach these poor kids how to apply cologne or perfume. Brut and Old spice is so putrid! Also alot of kids don't know that perfume/cologne will not cover up sweat or dirt smell. So they need a hygiene class in elementary school but the only class I know that does this is special ed class. Go figure Oh sorry I think it's really stupid to discipline for Axe I mean as was mentioned half if not all teenage boys wear some type of cologne. Instead of discipline why don't they give them the proper guidance,

Teacher couldn't have just sent a note home to mom asking her to teach her kid moderation? At the beginning of the school year we had an eighth grade teacher send out a request that students in her class please refrain from wearing any strong scented perfume or cologne as she has severe allergies... And having a pack of teens at home, I can only imagine what 30 teenagers in an enclosed classroom smells like..

    Axe should be banned anyway.
It assaults the nose of everyone, including those of us with perfume allergies.

Thank god there are punishments for wearing Axe, now! Can we include their overused 10 year old bottles of Old Mice, too?

Am I the only one who likes Axe? I think it smells nice on the bf. My four year old now asks if he can have some and I sprits a little bit on him. My best friend calls my bf's smelly stuff "pimp juice". But I dont think her hubs wears anything in the form of deoderant sometimes.

I'm with you, moonlilly. Worn appropriately, as an accent rather than a feature, certain scents of it can be appealing.

However, I also side with those who have perfume allergies, and that was part of the reason why I wouldn't hire people wearing noticeable perfume in customer service when I did such things.

I think it depends on the scent of the Axe. Some smell like soap, some smell disgusting and "weird", and others smell pretty good. So I do not agree with teacher for the write up.....a simple mention of it being a bit strong would have done the trick.
My 17 yr old wears it....his is ok. I don't gag.

My husband's grandmother buys my ninth grader an axe gift set every year. The latest has a very strong peppery smell that rapes my nose everytime he walks in the door. I can't decide which is worse, him smelling like something crawled up his ass and died, or the peppery nose raping shit.

My soon to be 16 year old wears Axe too. Yeah sometimes it gives you a mild headache, and your gag reflexes get tested from time to time. But if used lightly, and not to mask some horrible BO, it can be quite pleasant.

children are not just born knowing stuff like moderation...they need to be taught a lot of things...like manners, good hygiene, etiquette and they may act like they are not listening but for the most part they always do...listen, that is...mainly cause they think they might miss something that they can blackmail the parent with later!! LOL

I think this teacher and school are acting stupidly since this child learned nothing from this but how childish his teachers are.

Stupid question....but isnt axe supposed to be a deoderant? I was looking at the can last night and it has specific instructions on how its supposed to be worn.

BTW had to put up the axe because my son got into yesterday while I was at work. Now my whole downstairs smells like pimp juice.

I Love axe and spritzing is the best way to use it and it does have directions. My hubby has found axe is the only thing that he can tolerate. He has sensitive skin and strong smells choke him.
