    Three days before former congressional candidate Abel Tomlinson climbed into a tree at the county courthouse in a rant that got him arrested, he paid $45 to file articles of incorporation with the state to create the Psychedelic Pantheism Church.
    The filing comes about three months after Tomlinson was arrested on a felony charge of delivering hallucinogenic mushrooms to a police informant.

    The church, said Tomlinson, seeks “to synthesize an evolved spiritual philosophy and also to organize in an effort to obtain First Amendment legal protection for the regulated use of psychedelic sacrament by any licensed entity, including our church.”

    Police pull Abel Tomlinson of Fayetteville from a tree in front of the Washington County Courthouse at College Avenue and Dickson Street on Monday afternoon. Tomlinson was perched in the tree for almost an hour, shouting at passersby and police, before he slipped and police were able to pull him from the lower branches.
    This photo not all bad either.

    Abel Tomlinson, the former congressional candidate and tree-climbing protester, plans to announce his candidacy for District 92 of the Arkansas House of Representatives on Saturday in front of the Fayetteville Town Center.

    The announcement, set to take place at 1 p.m., will consist of a brief speech and news conference
