FORT WORTH — A Fort Worth woman who was assaulted by a sexual predator is now a victim again.
She says her son is being bullied so badly in school that they have been forced to move.
The victim is one of two women who police say were attacked by Lynn Edward Denham.
The victim told News 8 that the talk and the gossip started even before the news coverage. She said neighbors saw police at her home for six hours after she was raped.
Now, she and her son — who are not being identified for obvious reasons — can feel people staring whenever they leave the house. They no longer feel welcome in their own neighborhood.

"It's something that he took away from me, that no one can ever give back," the woman said. "Now my poor son is suffering, and it's not right."
Richland Hills police say convicted sex offender Lynn Edward Denham broke into the single mom's home two weeks ago and raped her in her own bedroom.

"They whisper; they point," he said. "They say, 'Isn't your mom the one that got raped?'"
To protect him, the victim is moving him out of the school district and leaving the only home her son has ever known.
" just want him to be safe," she said. "That's all I want — and to be able to go to school and not be harassed all day."

But the entire family was a victim in this attack, and sometimes moving to another town is the only answer.
When something traumatic like this happens to anyone ... you already feel like everyone knows what happened to you. They know the details, and that's horrifying in itself," said Women's Center director Deborah Caddy.

"It's just been hard, because of people picking on me about it," the boy said.
"He deserves to be a normal child," added his mom. "He didn't do anything wrong."
The Women's Center says this story is not uncommon; many victims and family members hear rude comments or rumors.
That's why the state will pay for a victim to move if she was attacked inside her own home.
