OREGON CITY, Ore. -- Authorities arrested four people believed to be involved in a home invasion killing Thursday in Oregon City.
Two men and a woman were charged with murder in a case where Joseph Ryan Pankonin, 31, was shot and killed and a woman assaulted in a house at 15275 South Maple Lane, in Oregon City.
The fourth man, Charles Jenkins Jr., 28, of Portland, is being held by police but hadn't been charged with any crimes as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.Detectives said they were optimistic with the progression of the criminal investigation from the beginning, and were confident they would identify and apprehend the people responsible for the violent crime.
The three suspects now incarcerated in the Clackamas County Jail are Diana Lynn Engle, 46, aka Diana Lynn Marsh, formerly of Oregon City; Shannon Ray Pierce, 40, of Oregon City; and Darold Michael Hagerman, 24, also of Oregon City.
Engle and Pierce were arrested late Tuesday afternoon without complication by Clackamas County sheriff's detectives and Portland Police Bureau personnel as the couple sat in a restaurant in southeast Portland.
Later Tuesday evening, Hagerman was arrested without incident at his home in Oregon City.
All three of the people arrested have been lodged in the Clackamas County Jail and charged with murder, first-degree robbery and first-degree kidnapping.
Jenkins called his parole officer and turned himself in when he got word that police were looking for him, officers said.
