I can't fathom being without a computer for a couple days..

I made a liar out of myself. I was having heart palpitations the closer it got to having my computer picked up. I canceled the appoint but rescheduled for tomorrow morning.

All I did was delay the inevitable. But I swear, my new friends, I was in full blown panic attack mode. I felt like I was handing one of my kids over to a total stranger.

I checked my D'D Forum Rule Book, and it clearly says, "Noobs who are not initially skeered are not worth keeping." I then took a jaunt down Memory Lane, remembering how terrified I was that swivel might notice something I said and deliver a 25,000-word post eviscerating me.

Stay-at-home moms are cool, as are forum junkies, and as are animal rescue folks...as long as the junkie bit doesn't interfere with the animal rescue/mom bits!!!

Just wanted to report in that my computer went into the shop around 10:00 am yesterday and I had it back by 2:30 pm.

It got a clean bill of health other than, of course, the case had to be thoroughly cleaned.

Having two cats (one a Maine Coon with extremely long hair), sure clogs up the innards.

Thanks for your input Dakota Valkryie. I understand the cost of maintaining a forum, but as I said, I've never had to PAY just to have a signature. I paid the money because it was important for me to have a signature that represented my heritage. I'm a minority group so the more people that read any signature I have, the better I feel. My ancestors were literally raped by the U.S. Government and exiled onto reservations. They were made strangers in their own land. They were either massacred or forced off land they had inhabited for CENTURIES before the white settlers decided they didn't deserve their land. Our own heritage was stripped from us. Not cool by any stretch of the imagination.

And thanks to you, TheMorningStar. I explained above why I felt the need to acquire some means to get my signature out there for everyone to read. If you had Cherokee ancestry and your people had been forced to follow The Trail of Tears you might be a bit more sympathetic.

If you had been called a 'half breed' all your life you might be a little sensitive, too. You might even want to get your own side of the story out there via a signature.

Enough. I'm happy with the nice people I've met and the friends I've made. I'm not seeking approval from everyone.

My personal blog is not connected to any forum, and it never will be. But thanks for the suggestion. I share it only with people who understand what it is to be exiled in the very land your ancestors were driven from by arrogant 'white men' (and women) who felt they had more claim than its original inhabitants.

I studied U.S. History for years. I studied the white man's "Manifest Destiny". It was arrogant. The sense of entitlement is nauseating. To this day, no one gives a damn about the Native Americans who were portrayed as savages for attempting to hold onto their own land.

Yes, I'm angry. I think I have a right to be. If you, or anyone else, thinks I don't have a right to be angry, then that's up to you. Just please look inside your own conscience and then come back and tell me that my ancestors deserved the treatment they were dealt by the 'white' settlers who took over our own land.

I just thought the blog section here - which can be made private to just your friends if you wish - would be a good place for you to state your mind and to get some truth out there. Blogging is part of your new boldness.

What happened to all Native Americans is/was a crime so it certainly deserves representation at D'D IMHO.
