Morgan Smith Was Jealous, Killed Andrea Stranko; Daryl Smith Is In Hospital

NORTH PORT, FL -- NORTH PORT, FL -- Detectives arrested Morgan Smith of North Port for murder after they found the body of a woman in a South Salford Boulevard home early Sunday morning.

North Port Police say just before 2 a.m. they found the body of 46-year-old Andrea Stranko inside the home, dead from an apparent shotgun wound to the upper body. They also found 44-year-old Daryl Smith lying in the front lanai area with a shotgun wound to the shoulder. He was taken to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment but his condition was not available.

Residents who witnessed the shooting, managed to hold Smith down until police arrived to arrest her.

Smith is being held in the Sarasota County jail without bond on charges of premeditated murder and one count of attempted murder.
