Child’s body found in South Florida apartment

A 3-year-old girl was found dead inside a Pompano Beach apartment on Sunday morning, authorities said.

At about 5 a.m., the child's grandmother discovered the girl's body at the St.

Elizabeth Gardens Apartments, 801 NE 33rd St., according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Authorities do not think foul play was involved in the child's death, according to Keyla Conception, spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Office. The medical examiner's office will make the official determination.

The child started feeling sick the night before, Conception said. "The grandmother put the baby to sleep and when she went to check on her in the morning, the baby was cold."

The grandmother called 911. Firefighters who went to the apartment pronounced the girl dead, she said.

The St. Elizabeth complex houses low-income seniors, according to its website.

Tho I guess there are things that could do it, I can't think of anything that would make achild gofrom feelibng sick to dead in the space of one night. And oftop of that NO ONE checked on her at all during the night. Maybe it wasn't foul play but it just seems hinky.

Yeah, my bullshit meter is going crazy, but I really, really, really want to believe there is no foul play involved. She may have been asymptomatic with something serious and just started to show symptoms that night but it was too late without urgent care.

Poor sweet child, rest in peace little one.....gone to soon.
