Tuyet Huynh really loved her purse

Tuyet Thi Huynh, a 38-year-old woman from Garden Grove, died Sunday morning after being dragged by a car late Saturday night, said Westminster police officer Van Woodson.

At about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Huynh was talking to Christopher Yu, an 18-year-old man from Fountain Valley, and Lynn Quach, a 19-year-old woman from Garden Grove. Yu and Quach were seated in a car at Russell Paris Park. The passenger grabbed Huynh's purse as the driver sped away. Woodson said he did not know which person was driving the car.

Huynh refused to let go of her purse and was dragged several blocks. Near Palos Verdes Avenue and Fox Hills in Westminster, one of the suspects shot Huynh. Woodson did not know where she was shot or who shot her. She fell from the suspects' car to the pavement.

Huynh's boyfriend witnessed the incident and drove after the suspects. The suspects shot at the boyfriend as he pursued them. A deputy from the Orange County Sheriff's Department saw the two speeding cars and stopped the drivers. After the boyfriend explained the situation, the deputy detained the suspects for questioning.

Quach and Yu are being held on charges of murder and attempted murder.

Woman dies in Cali robbery attempt

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100329/...agged_and_shot

WESTMINSTER, Calif. – Authorities say two suspects have been arrested after a 38-year-old woman was dragged alongside a vehicle for several blocks and then shot during an apparent robbery attempt at a Southern California park.

Westminster police spokesman Van Woodson says Tuyet Thi Huynh of Garden Grove was at an Orange County park Sunday when she was seen talking to a man and a woman who were sitting in a vehicle.

Woodson says the passenger of the car grabbed Huynh's purse as the driver sped away, dragging Huynh for several blocks. He says one of the suspects then shot Huynh, who fell to the ground. She died later at a hospital.

Woodson says 18-year-old Christopher Yu of Fountain Valley and 19-year-old Lynn Quach of Garden Grove were arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder

Woman dies after being dragged by car and shot in Westminster robbery attempt

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lano...olice-say.html

A 38-year-old woman died after being dragged alongside a vehicle and shot during an apparent robbery attempt at a Westminster park, authorities said Sunday. Two suspects were arrested.

Tuyet Thi Huynh of Garden Grove was in Russell Paris Park at about 11:30 p.m., talking to a man and a woman sitting in a vehicle, Westminster Police Department spokesman Van Woodson said. The passenger of the car allegedly grabbed Huynh’s purse as the driver sped away, dragging the woman for several blocks. One of the suspects then shot Huynh, who fell near the intersection of Palos Verdes Avenue and Fox Hills Street, according to police.

Huynh’s boyfriend, who witnessed the incident, drove after the suspects and was shot at during the pursuit, Woodson said.

I can only imagine what that must have been like to watch someone you love being killed right in front of your eyes. Throw both of them onto the freeway and let them get a dose of their own medicine.

    That's horrible:(

Good Lord, so what, we need to buy purses with straps that won't support our weight?

That poor woman, I can't even imagine
Those 2 need to go meet Bubba and then Ol' sparky.

Of course I know CA doesn't have the electric chair and that's a damn shame.

Yikes, just commented on this. I guess you 2 have great minds that think alike:)

I can't imagine seeing someone I loved killed right in front of me. I'm pretty sure I would die right then and there.
I would continue to exist. You know, eat, sleep, work. But I would die.

    Sleep well Tuyet

I even searched for this. I can only imagine the terror she was feeling. I would say DP for these two but since CA really doesn't have it, lock them up for life.

The 600+ folks on California's Death Row will be happy to hear that. :) It may as well not exist because they have only executed a dozen or so since 1976. (which is why you probably said it as "really doesnt have it") It's a big debate there now because the cost is so high vs. life without parole.
