California Police Search for Missing 11-Year-Old Boy *found*

California police are searching for an 11-year-old boy who disappeared Sunday while taking the trash out of his family's apartment, CBS2.com reported.

Cody Burton of Chatsworth, Calif., was reportedly last seen leaving the apartment at around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, the boy's mother told police.

Lt. John Romero of the Los Angeles Police Department's Devonshire Station told CBS2.com that Cody was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and black and gray basketball shorts.

Cody, who is African-American and about 4'11 tall with black hair and brown eyes, has no history of running away, the station reported.

An 11-year-old boy reported missing from his Chatsworth apartment was found safe at a friend's house in Woodland Hills Monday morning.

Cody Burton left his apartment in the 10200 block of Eton Avenue Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m., according to his mother.

Burton took the family's trash to a dumpster, but didn't return home all night.

Police say he apparently walked from Chatsworth to Woodland Hills.
