It was a good excuse. Railton Loy is the imperial wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.
He called the courthouse and said he planned to wear his full KKK uniform to jury selection; and he said he couldn't be unbiased in his deliberations unless the defendant was white.
The judge excused Loy.
