Body of Clay woman to be exhumed
Clay (WSYR-TV) - Ever since her death in Florida on New Year's Eve, Sheena Morris's parents have insisted that her death was not, as the police claimed, suicide. Her parents believe Sheena was murdered.
Sheena's body was discovered in a Florida hotel bathroom with a dog's leash wrapped around her neck on New Year's Day 2009. The 22-year-old had been celebrating New Year's Eve on 2008 with her fiancée. According to her parents, other people heard a heated argument coming from the room in which the couple was staying.
She had lived in Clay before moving to Florida. The police investigation in Anna Maria Island determined that Sheena's death was a suicide. The family believes the small department may not have been equipped for a homicide investigation.
Now David Morris and Kelly Osborn hope to prove that their daughter's death was the result of a homicide. The parents paid $15,000 to have Sheena's body exhumed from the Clay cemetery in which she was laid to rest and will also have it sent to Albany to be examined by independent forensic pathologist Michael Baden.

“She was 22-years-old and she had so much promise, she would light up a room when she walked in,” said Kelly Osborn told NewsChannel 9 during an April interview. “Sheena wasn't suicidal. She wasn't depressed. We need proof it was a suicide.”
