OMG if the boy had issues, get him some help. I'm sure he did have issues, but I don't think he was starving himself on purpose or tying himself up with a leash or anything. It's especially cruel that the other children were treated well.

I am glad the dad is being charged, too. Where the fuck was he? This was his own flesh and blood.

I agree with everyone that wrote it. How can you sit around and eat to excess and have a child in your house that you know is in severe pain, physically and mentally. As we've all been over before, no one should ever tell a growing child they can't eat or keep them from food. If they shouldn't be eating extra calories, keep some fruit on hand to give them, at least.

I wonder if this boy will develop properly. He'll probably always have anger issues and food problems. I wish I could hug him. He deserves good things only from now on.

Now, I know there's many people that home school that are not fuckwads like these two. I really think it would be a good idea to have a 6 month check-in from social services/school authorities for ALL people that decide to home-school.

To prevent this kind of abuse. Since you hear the most horrendous abuse coming to kids that aren't being sent to school.
Also, to ensure kids are being educated properly, too.

Well congrats to you all for being such IDIOTS for believing the frst thing you hear! I know Jaime personally and I know the child personally!!! I know for a fact the child refused food bc his father came home from working in Shreveport. And when she made him eat he stuffed his fingers down his throat to make hisself throw the food up. I also know that the "concerned woman from moas bluff" was also the sister of the father that said she refused to have "that psycho kid" in her home around her kid bc she feared for her childs life..... Still a hero in your eyes??? And the child does have mental problms! They stem from a lot of trauma when he was very young. Maybe bc his own mother allowed her boyfriend to put a loaded gun to his head! All Jaime did was try and try and try to get him help! She had in-home assistance for him that she expressed her concerns about his weight to on soooo many occasions and all they said was to not take him to the hospital bc it shows him he gets his way. Yea he loves going to the hospital bc he likes people pitying him. He's a very manipulative child that got it very honest! I just hope he doesn't put a knife to his foster parents kids throat like he did his 3 yr old brothers throat. She brought him to the hospital on feb 19th. Her sis in law called the cops on Murry..the boys dad. He then reversed it on Jaime saying it was all her fault. The boy would hide from his dad because he was scared of him & didn't like him. Jaime brought him to memorial psych ward back in October (when he ran the screw ... See Moredriver thru his lip). They released him after 3 days because Medicaid wouldn't cover. She brought him back in November. They released him to helping hands. She has been trying for months to get him evaluated. I honestly don't know any step mom that would put up with the stuff she has had to go through. And yes the dad was living in the house. She filed for divorce last week, and since then he has been out to get her.

Just for the record: I am the Woman that called the cops on my own brother! And yes, I would do it again, to save a innocent child's life! I don't agree that my brother should have all these charges but should have some repercussions. He was out of town for the last 8 months and trusted in his wife to take care of his child. I am not going to explain everything I know, b-cuz the detectives have their evidence against Jaime! Believe me she is not as innocent as "some" people think she is! I also hate how her family is using a good church and God in all of this, that is just sad!!!

According to District Attorney John DeRosier, the two counts of second degree cruelty to a juvenile could carry up to 40-years each. The 25 cruelty to a juvenile charges could carry up to ten years in prison each. If convicted on all charges, Jaime Day could be sentenced to 330-years in prison.

This is going to sound awful but the little guy is dressed like I dress my stepson when we send him to see his mother. The kids live primarily with us and I know that whatever clothes I send E with will never be seen again (or she will inexplicably "find" them when they are too small and send him home in them then).

Don't get me wrong, the clothes always fit and are free of rips and stains, but it's not the Childrens Place and nicer stuff that we have.

That being said I would NEVER not have nice holiday clothes for him. Not a chance. Even when he goes to DoucheBag's for holidays I dress him nicely and chalk it up as a small loss for him looking nice and feeling good about himself.

This is deliberate. Although he is "in" the picture, the abuse pervades so much that he is still the castoff in his beige clothes while his siblings look colorful and festive. And I am sure even though he had the "privilege" of being allowed to be in the picture he felt the division loud and clear, exactly as this bitch intended.

Cunts like this give stepparents a bad name. I would love to tear her apart.

I understand how you could feel this way, but by this logic, shouldn't CPS drop in on everyone's kids ever 6 months or so? After all, we're well aware that schooling doesn't mean abuse is always noticed.

We shouldn't punish a well-meaning faction of society because a small percentage does wrong. Frankly, we couldn't afford to, anyway. CPS workers have a hard enough time keeping up with reported abuse, much less having to visit houses where abuse has never been suspected.

Also, I thought most home school programs included some classes, like phys ed and others, that actually have to be taken in a structured learning enviornment. I know that around here certain testing and exams are given at the college by instructors to insure the child's competancy to move on to higher levels of home schooling. Home Schooling does not always mean a vacuum away from society.

But I could be wrong.

That is not awful whatsoever. My brother can't send my niece back with any of the toys we gave her to play with at his house or any clothes he bought her because she won't send the toys or clothes back and she'll have nothing to wear or play with because his ex sends her with raggedy clothes.

It's sad that some women are like this and don't think of their child and instead think of hurting their ex. What I don't understand about the pic is that they have custody, not shared custody, full custody, and they still dressed him in this manner.

Ten to one it was just one more way to segregate and abuse him. He would have felt different and left out and his siblings would have internalized that too. Dave Peltzer wrote in his books that his siblings were encouraged and brainwashed to think of him as an "it" and not a "him". Shit like this is where it starts.

That's so sad that it's that way. We have the same situation with several grandkids. They have clothes and toys at both parent's homes. The difference is that it's planned that way. Instead of bitching and fighting with each other over the style/condition of dress or choice of toys or the current location of items, each parent has their own set. The kids just bring their favorite stuff back and forth. There is minimal packing and "keeping track" of what belongs where and no fighting about it. It has always been that way and agreed upon to avoid the discord that many people find themselves in. People that dress their kids raggedy to go to the other parent or other tactics aimed at the other parent barely deserve to be called a parent themselves.

If I had my way in situations where kids are pawns, the kids would stay put and the parents would move in and out. See how they like it.

From there I learned the "parents" were both indicted

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A Calcasieu grand jury has indicted the step mother and father of a boy who was found living in deplorable conditions back in early February.

Jamie Brooks Day was indicted on three counts of second degree cruelty to a juvenile and five counts of cruelty to a juvenile.

The boy's father, Murry Dalton Day, was indicted on one count of second degree cruelty to a juvenile and two counts of cruelty to a juvenile.
