NARRATIVE:
Arrestee Renee Long (Hartsfield) was arrested on February 22, 2010, for two counts of Felony Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury, two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, one count of Misdemeanor Child Abuse, one count of Assault on a Child under 12, and one count of Simple Assault.
On February 18, 2010, at approximately 2:07 PM, A
rrestee admitted while being interviewed, that she had deliberately assaulted her now five month old son. Between November 16, 2009, and November 18, 2009, while alone with the victim, Arrestee admitted that she was frustrated with her husband and hit the victim who was at that time two months old on the left side of his face in the eye causing a severe black eye to the right side of his face. She did this because he was crying.
When the victim continued to cry, she hit him again.
On January 5, 2010, in the middle of the night, Arrestee changed the victim’s diaper and put him back in his bassinet.
Arrestee claimed not to have noticed that his leg was caught in the side of the bassinet. Arrestee pulled and tugged the victim with enough force to fracture his left tibia.
On February 9, 2010, at approximately 3:00 PM, Victim began crying and Arrestee shook him twice in a short period of time with
enough force to cause bilateral retinal hemorrhage, multiple brain bleeds, skull fracture, and chest bruises.
