Deputies arrested a babysitter who tried to inject oxycodone while he was caring for a 10-year-old boy, according to arrest records.
Nerau When a deputy went to a home in the 100 block of Circuit Road in Nokomis to serve an arrest warrant in late December, he reportedly saw Brian Nerau preparing a needle.
Nerau, 30, had a valid prescription for oxycodone, alprazolam and methadone. But authorities say he was supposed to be taking care of a young boy at the time and would have been too impaired to properly watch the child.
Nerau was not immediately arrested, but was charged over the weekend with child neglect and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
