Not sure if any (reliable) family has come forward yet if she's with a foster family.Division of Family Services spokesman Joseph Smack said the girl has been placed with a foster family.
Also seeing a lot o rumors on news sites that she was rumored to be from New York, but no definites yet.

“The kind of charges would be abandonment of a child under the age of 14 and endangering the welfare of a child,” Keld said.
Charges wouldn’t be filed, however, if an unusual or unavoidable circumstance prevented the girl’s parents or guardians from taking them with them, he said.
Police do not have any leads, based on surveillance cameras at the station, since that system was not in operation.

Investigators have linked a girl abandoned in a Newark-area restroom Sunday to a young woman who was the victim of an apparent homicide in New York state, authorities said today.
I'm so sad for the little girl. She has no mother. It looks like they had family in Haiti too.... seems like there is a lot of family on her facebook though so I hope for the very best for this pretty little girl...

A 25-year-old Edison, N.J., man has been charged with kidnapping and endangering the 20-month-old girl who was abandoned at a Newark gas station Sunday, according to the Middlesex County, N.J., Prosecutor Office.
Dwayne Jackson was charged today in Middlesex County, N.J., and is being held there on $750,000 bail. Jackson also has been charged by Newark police with first-degree reckless endangering for locking the girl in the bathroom of the Shell service station at 804 S. College Ave.
The child was identified as Jackson’s daughter after her photograph was published in The News Journal and elsewhere, according to Jim O'Neill, spokesman for Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. The child, who had been living with her mother in North Brunswick, N.J., remains in Delaware with her foster family.

The woman also underwent gall bladder surgery with the past four weeks, according to the Rockland Medical Examiner's Office, following an autopsy.

EDIT: I somehow missed the 2 last pages of this thread! guess I'm still sleep deprived from baby nephew. So, baby girl might be Hanna Mia, and mother appears to be deceased. So very sad, for mother and child. Great find on the photos Queen and Madea....she's a doll.

So it wasn't exactly the men's restroom. Really tho woman or man could have harmed the mother and dumped the child....someone with a partial conscience would then leave baby girl there instead of killing her.The gas station clerk doesn't remember giving anyone with a little girl the key to the unisex bathroom.
I very much agree she appears to be cared for, and her fave color seems to be purple, so cute. I really think mother was killed as who could not claim their baby doll? on the other hand, we read just about everything here, much can be left to interpretation but people continue to surprise me with their level of cruelty.
By the title it sounded like the toddler HAD been identified. Wonder what this sweet child's name is and if she can tell us anything about what happened to her mama.

As we see so many cases her of fathers killing their entire families, I can't help but be grateful that the father just abandoned the daughter instead of killing her. Kinda sad that we're at the pioint where we can say "Well, at least he only abandoned her in some gas station bathroom."
I just hope she has some family willing and able to take care of her.
This poor child now left with out her mother.
Apparently Patricia (the mom) was Dwayne's other woman. Perhaps she threatened to expose him...
