Unidentified toddler found on porch

I know it this economy people are dumping their pets, but their kids?

According to the 26th Judicial Circuit Juvenile Services, an unidentified infant, approximately one-and-a-half years old, was found unaccompanied on a porch near Kaiser, Mo.

After a canvas of the area, deputies were not able to parents, guardians, siblings, or any other person claiming to know the child, who is now in the custody of the courts.

The child appeared in good condition and will remain in foster care for the time being.

Law enforcement, who cannot release the photograph of the child without a court order, is asking for any information leading to child's identity.

UPDATE: Officials have released that the child is a boy and seems to have been very well cared for. No one has reported a child missing or stepped up to claim him as of 10:40 a.m. Feb. 19.

No more so than your average adopted child, I wouldn't imagine, and probably even better than the kid who learns he was taken from parents that young due to their neglect. They've said it appears he was well cared for. We don't know what could have caused this, so unless that mom turns out to have dropped the kid off so she could run away to some exotic land with a new man, I think the kid will be okay emotionally, presuming he's placed with good people.

hm atleast the baby was left healthy and alive. perhaps the mother couldnt have taken care of him so for his benefit she left him, of course she was lacking judgement by leaving him outside unattended, to be better cared for. she is probably 16 or 17.

They've identified him by exact age and know his name, so its only a matter of time we learn why tf he was abandoned and by whom.

Very glad he seems to be cared for and was not found injured. That he was found at all is good.

UPDATE: Friday, 4 p.m. - Two individuals have been taken into custody for questioning. Sheriff Bill Abbott said charges should be filed before the end of the day.

They found the parents and have them in custody.

The parents of a 1-year-old boy found on a porch in Miller County Thursday night are in jail and the baby found unaccompanied on a porch near Kaiser Thursday night is in protective custody.
Miller County Sheriff Bill Abbott said in a press release issued Saturday that investigators were able to identify the boy and his parents, but did not release how.
That investigation spanned at least Miller and Benton counties and included representatives of at least six offices including the Mid-Missouri Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force.
According the release, the boy’s mother, Corina M. White, was identified and located by Miller County investigators Friday morning.
After brief questioning, she was taken into custody and transported to the Miller County Jail, according to the release. A warrant for her arrest was issued Friday night that charged her with one Class C felony count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the First Degree. Bond was set at $300,000.
The baby’s father, Calvin M. White, was taken into custody Friday afternoon by Benton County officers after “being summoned to a call regarding suspicious activity,” according to the release.
Calvin White was arrested and taken to the Miller County Jail on an unrelated warrant. A search warrant was obtained and executed on his residence Friday afternoon by the Miller County Sheriff’s Department and the Mid-Missouri Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force.
A related warrant for White’s arrest was issued Friday night, charging him with one Class B felony count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the First Degree, according to the release. Bond was set at $300,000.
The baby has been temporarily transferred to the state’s custody and is currently in foster care awaiting a custody hearing.

Here it is. I know CW (Calvin White) as well and I am especially close to Corina White. I happen to know that the child was in CW's care that afternoon because Corina was at work. He is the one that dropped that baby off on the doorstep, telling Corina that he took the baby to a babysitter. She recently left him, finally for the last time. He is done abusing her, both physically and mentally. I don't believe that she should be charged for something she would have never done. I don't believe her bail should be close to the amount his is, but the good thing is...the baby nor Corina have to worry about him anymore. I hope he rots in jail and gets everything he deserves for putting a certain family through hell for the past three years.

Documents obtained said Calvin was the one taking care of his son last Thursday when he chose to abandon the baby in Miller County.

Calvin said he's not sure when he abandoned his son or how long the baby was left alone.

Court documents show the baby's mother, Corina, was not with Calvin at the time.

Her child endangerment charge stems from leaving her son in Calvin's care, who she said used drugs and abused her.

She was not present when he made the decision to abandon the toddler.

Stephen Garner and his newlywed wife actually found the boy on their front porch after returning from their wedding. The boy was only wearing a short-sleeved shirt and pants - no jacket or shoes. The newlywed couple lives at the Palace Lane Estates mobile home park in Kaiser, Mo.

Garner said he and his wife were shocked to see the boy on their porch and immediately called 911.

According to court documents, Corina said she had no idea her son was in danger - she had left him with his father for the weekend. Calvin said he left his son on the porch in the mobile home park, and then fled.
